Experience a Day as a Commercial Diver

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of professional diving and experience a day that very few divers will ever get to experience.

During the Commercial Diving Experience ,you'll work with a professional Kirby Morgan surface-supplied diving system, stay in constant contact with the surface via a communication system, and tackle real-world underwater tasks under the guidance of experienced commercial divers.

Here's what you can expect

Throughout the day, you'll complete four dives that build on one another. Each dive covers a different aspect of professional diving and gives you the opportunity to work with real professional diving equipment.

Dive 1 – Arrival & Trying Out Helmet Diving

Your first dive is designed to familiarize you with the Kirby Morgan helmet diving system and the surface-supplied system. You’ll get used to working with the helmet, learn how to communicate via the surface system, and practice various safety and emergency procedures under supervision.

Dive 2 – Working with Hand Tools Underwater

Now it’s time to get hands-on: Using classic hand tools underwater, you’ll craft a wooden cross from square-edged lumber. In the process, you’ll experience how seemingly simple craft tasks change underwater and learn what techniques are required in commercial diving.

Dive 3 – Working in a Mine with Limited Visibility

A realistic work scenario awaits you at Bremsberg. In poor visibility and a dark environment, you will disassemble and reassemble a pipe flange using only hand tools. This dive provides an authentic glimpse into how professional divers work with precision, even under challenging conditions.

Dive 4 – Underwater Welding

To wrap things up, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about one of the most fascinating disciplines in commercial diving. Under supervision, you’ll perform a horizontal fillet weld on a test piece and gain your first hands-on experience in underwater welding—an activity that very few divers ever get to try for themselves.

Between dives, catering, drinks, and time spent socializing with the team create the perfect atmosphere.

Eligibility Requirements

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Valid recreational diver certification
• Valid diving certification in accordance with standard requirements for recreational divers
• Enjoyment of new challenges and teamwork

A cave diving or mine diving certification is not required.

8:00 a.m. – approx. 8:00 p.m.

Since we work in small groups and want to ensure that every participant has an immersive and safe experience, the number of participants per event day is strictly limited.

The event will take place only if a minimum number of participants is reached. If this number is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the event. In this case, the participation fee already paid will, of course, be refunded in full to the original payment method. Any further claims, particularly for travel, lodging, or other consequential costs, are excluded.
